Syma RC Helicopter
An Introduction to the Syma RC Helicopter
Flying a Syma RC helicopter is so much fun, and anyone can do it! Perhaps you have never experienced flying a Syma RC helicopter before, in which case it is going to be special.
Have you tried RC cars or trucks? The principle is, of course, the same, but your vehicle is going to be in the air rather than on the ground.
Exciting Maneuvers to Try Out
These helicopters take off vertically, and you can use the remote to control their height and direction. This mini helicopter is stable, and the controls work well.
Launch the helicopter and fly it forwards and backward, or use the remote to turn left, right, or even try a perfect 360 degrees turn. Let go of the remote, and the helicopter stops moving, simply hovering and awaiting your next move.
How Durable is It?
The Syma RC helicopter is robust and is able to withstand some pretty bad crashes. The blades are made of strong plastic and will take quite a degree of punishment.
If you do need more parts though, they are easy to get and reasonably priced. This is important to know in case you do have a significant crash and need to fix the helicopter.

Do You Own Any RC Toys?
Syma S107G 3 Channel RC Helicopter with Gyro, Blue
This blue RC helicopter is a joy to fly. The remote has 2 joysticks, one for controlling the rotor speed to go up and down, and the other for controlling left or right, as well as forward and reverse. You can also move that one diagonally to make turns which moving, so try a few figure-8s while the helicopter is up there. You can modify this helicopter if you wish, removing the spring from one of the joysticks to allow the helicopter to hover if you put the remote down, or you can move the landing gear forwards to all a little speed. There are other mods you can try too. This helicopter is not only a great price, but it is durable too. Even if you crash into the walls, table, ceiling and various other items, it should stand up to it just fine. You might get a few nicks on the rotor blades, but that will not affect flight. Pretty much every part of this helicopter is replaceable should you have a bad crash, including the wings, body parts and motors. This is an excellent deal, and it would make a wonderful Christmas or birthday gift.
More Details About Syma Helicopters
The remote control works with infrared which means you might have issues with sunlight. This is primarily an indoor toy, another reason for that being it does not do well in the wind.
If you want to try it outside, then go for it, but bear in mind the weather might not be on your side. Do not fly it near an air conditioner or fan, and keep it away from the digital TV in case it has an impact on the remote signal.
Battery Life and Recharging
The battery takes 20 minutes to recharge, and then you get about 6 minutes flying time. The battery does get hot so you should let it cool down before charging it. That way it will have a longer lifespan. You might wish to increase your Syma RC helicopter collection, so you always have at least one fully charged and ready to fly.
There are a few clones and fakes on the market, so only buy from a reputable source and read Syma RC helicopter reviews. This toy makes a fantastic gift, or you might wish to purchase it for yourself because it is so much fun to fly.
Everything you need is in the box, and it is ready to use as soon as you get it out. You need 6 AA batteries for the remote but nothing else. This is such a fun hobby and whichever Syma RC helicopter you choose you are sure to love it because it is an excellent hobby.

Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter *Colors Vary
This helicopter is a real bargain, and it offers smooth, stable flight. Although the box recommends it for people over 14 years, a younger child could manage it. The speed is balanced and good for indoor flight, and you can make it go up, down, forwards, backward, left and right. The speed is good. It is not too slow which would be boring, and it is not too fast which would make it hard to control. Syma uses hard plastic and metal to make these helicopters, and they are durable, even if you have multiple crashes. Charge it through the controller or even using the USB on your computer. You only get 5 or 6 minutes flight time, but that is normal with RC helicopters. At this price, you could afford to get a pair of them, so you always have one charged up and ready to fly. This is an indoor toy because it does not do well in the wind. Even a light breeze can blow it off course but do try it outside if it is not a windy day.
Syma S107G 3 Channel RC Radio Remote Control Helicopter with Gyro – Green
This helicopter is fun to fly, and you can make it go up, down, forwards, backward, left and right, very easily. If you buy this for a child, you will find the adults are very keen to have a go too, because this type of toy appeals to everyone with a sense of fun! Use it indoors or outdoors if there is no wind. Even if you crash this, and you probably will, it is durable and robust enough to survive many dings. Reviewers report crashing these into walls, roofs, ceilings, trees and more, and the helicopter works just fine afterward. If you do need to replace any parts though, they are simple to find and reasonably priced. The batteries only last a few minutes before they need charging, because of the need to keep the weight down in the helicopter, but they charge up quite quickly. This is a great gift idea, and the price offers real value for money.

Toy / Game 110v Charger For Syma Mini Helicopters S107 S105 S009 And Others (For Ages 3 Years And Up)
This will charge your helicopter batteries about half an hour faster than a USB charger and the LED is handy too because it is dark yellow during the charge and green when the batteries are fully charged. You can see it changing from dark yellow to light yellow to yellow-green to green as the batteries charge, which is cool. If you are a fan of Syma RC choppers, this charger is well worth considering. Although you can recharge the batteries in an hour using a USB cable, this charge cuts that time in half, so you can see why it is a popular item.
History of RC Helicopters
The first person to develop an RC airplane was Dieter Schluter in 1968, and he used his house as his base for creating them. A few years later came the ‘Duo-Bro Whirlybird’ which was produced by Dork Gray. This toy was quite dangerous, so further development was needed. The dangerous metal rotor was replaced with a light plastic one which of course was a safer alternative. The necessary engines, rotor blades, control techniques, and drive gears were also created along the way. All these elements are necessary for a full-size chopper so miniature equivalents had to be found for the smaller RC types. The price of these first RC helicopters was prohibitively high, so only the rich could afford one.
The earlier models suffered from a problem in that the gadget would spin uncontrolled every time the pilots attempted a corner. Wallis Autogyro created gyroscope technology which ended the circling and solved the problem. A gyroscope works by picking up a low movement, returning the helicopter to its balanced position. These helicopters were strong enough to survive crashes, even when used by inexperienced pilots. A gyroscope does help greatly with the stability and control of the device, but it cannot prevent crashes altogether. The prices dropped over time as the technology developed further and these devices became easier and cheaper to produce.
Although the first ones would set you back hundreds of dollars each, modern ones can be found for $40 or even less, making it an economical choice for a gift, and meaning you can add different ones to your collection. Some of the newest RC helicopters include cameras, and you will find RC helicopters to be better quality and more robust these days than ever, regardless of which type you choose to add to your collection. There are ideal models for adults and kids alike, and you can have so much fun with RC helicopters.
Why Choose the Syma Brand
There are various brands to choose from when it comes to RC helicopters, so you might be wondering which to choose. One reason the Syma brand stand out is its ease of use. These RC helicopters are easy to fly and very stable because of their excellent design. Have a few practice runs and then you will be flying the device like a pro. Kids of 8 years old and over will find this easy to fly, and you can do all kinds of moves in it, even barrel rolls! A Syma RC helicopter is so much fun for the whole family. Consider one as a gift, and it will be very much appreciated, for sure.
Syma S109G 3.5 Channel RC Helicopter with Gyro
Syma S109G 3.5 Channel RC Helicopter with gyro stability, smoothness and responsiveness are just some of the great things about this helicopter. It does fly well! It is a lot better than the 1st generation helicopters in the Syma range, and it is just more professional. Not only is this helicopter quieter and easier to control but it also resembles a real helicopter and not just an RC toy. If you are trying to choose between the different models, then this one is highly recommended for being the most realistic, the best-designed and built, and also the one which offers the smoothest flight. It is very easy to control and even a child could land this one on a soda can.
Syma S102G 3.5 Channel RC Helicopter with Gyro
This is an excellent mini helicopter. It goes slowly enough for a beginner to get used to the controls, and the flashing lights look good. If you are new to using mini choppers, this is a nice one, to begin with. A lot of people collect the whole Syma range (they are very affordable anyway), and this one certainly adds to the collection because it is smooth to fly and very well put together. It is a complete ready-to-fly kit, and both adults and kids love playing with these. The light weight of this one paired with its miniature size give it unparalleled speed (if you want it) and agility.
Syma S108G 3.5 Channel RC Helicopter with Gyro
SYMA S108G 3.5 CH Infrared Mini Radio Controlled Marine Cobra Helicopter Gyro
This Syma RC helicopter flies smoothly. Use this one indoors only though. If you fly it outdoors, even the smallest gust of wind will make it impossible to control. If this is your first helicopter, practice hovering before you attempt to fly left, right, forwards or backward. Once you can hover, then you can move on. This helicopter is good, but it is very responsive, which makes it less stable than the Blackhawk or the Chinook. The landing gear is different on this one too, and if you crash the helicopter and break the landing gear, it will not take off straight which makes it likely to crash. So, should you buy this one? Well if you are used to flying RC helicopters you will have no problems with it. If you are looking for your first one, then perhaps consider an easier one.
Syma 16.5CM S026G 3.5Ch 3 Channel Mini Chinook RC Helicopter Gyro Small Toy Gift Army-green
Syma 16.5CM S026G 3.5Ch 3 Channel Mini Chinook RC Helicopter Gyro Small Toy Gift Army-green this mini helicopter is the perfect size if you live in a small apartment and the built-in gyroscope is the reason for this because it contributes greatly to the balance and ease of flight. The steering on this model is fabulous, and it is responsive. It has twin rotors which give it plenty of power, and there is barely any lag between switching the power on and off and the helicopter changing its altitude. Fly forward and backward in one line if you have the gyro locked, and enjoy a 7 to 8 minute flying time between recharging. This is a fantastic model to go for, and it will work no matter indoors whether you live somewhere tiny or are restricted to just flying it in one room.
Syma S111G 3.5 Channel RC Helicopter with Gyro
Just like all Syma RC helicopters this one gets plenty of positive reviews and high ratings. It is ideal for a first-time pilot and fun for experienced ones too. It looks cool and performs very nicely. The infrared control means you are restricted to indoor use. Control the height, forward or backward flying, and left or right turns using the controller, and take some time to hover and learn the controls before attempting anything daring. A lot of RC helicopter newbies tend to be heavy-handed when controlling their choppers, but it is a fact that small, slow movements on the controls will yield the best results. This one is a very good price for what you get. It is robust, highly functional and great fun for adults or kids.
What other people tell about this RC Heli..
This RC helicopter is a great beginners toy. Easily fixed the cabin with Electrical Tape. The tail was not a mission to fix at all either. The Heli has a natural backward/Left drift. If it didn’t, it would be boring just up and down and over. It is tricky to learn to hover and fly around as it is only 2Ch controlled and can be quite agile. With practice and patience, you will have hours of enjoyment.
Initially, my heli flew backward and continuously spun. After adjustment of the potentiometer, it started to stable up. There is a fine line for this because of the different speeds. I also found that using a large board on the grass with the tail rotor overhanging works fine. When landing give some more power just before the ground, and it hovers quite well enough for you to land.
The Syma Dragon fly is as good as it’s sister the Schweitzer 300. Once you trim your heli, it makes your neighbor assume that you as competent a flyer as any! Parts can be gotten through Xheli.com for any problem on these toys! A dime in the nose of the canopy gives just enough forward flight to make this heli very fun. With extra batteries, a day of procedure flying can set you up for most any heli you want to fly.
HISTORY REMOTE CONTROLLED HELICOPTERS – A LIFETIME HOBBY
In 1968, a remote controlled helicopter made the first successful flight in Germany. Through the years, these remote controlled helicopters have been improved and have become a popular hobby. The RC helicopters provide a challenge and hours of fun; this is a hobby that can start in childhood and last a lifetime. Today there are RC helicopters for every budget and every skill level. The technology continues to improve and each year more enthusiastic “pilots” get involved in this hobby.
For those just getting started with the remote controlled helicopters, spend some time doing your research. There are RC toy helicopters, RC micro-coaxial helicopters, and hobby grade single rotor collective pitch RC helicopters; electric, nitro, gas, and jet turbine models. Some can be flown inside or outside and, of course, there is a remote controlled helicopter for every budget.
For those serious “helicopter pilots,” there is a two-day competition each year in Toronto, Canada. The last reported price was $50,000 and a vacation to Niagara Falls. Whether you stay in your own home to do your flying and only dream of Niagara Falls or you aspire to compete, this is a great hobby that can provide hours of fun for young and old.
